On Tuesday, July 18, 19 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4802 persons have been stopped this year.
In total227 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On July 18, officials of the State Border Guard detected 56 offenders at external borders and within the country.
26 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners
at the Vientuļi, the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of Moldova and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document. Three more citizens of Russia and two – of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Belarus was detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point three citizens of Latvia, departing for London and one citizen of Latvia, departing for Bristol without valid for travelling to Great Britain document, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – one citizen of Belarus, one – of Lithuania and one – of India.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 28 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 10 citizens of Belarus, four – of Moldova, four – of Russia, three – of Kirgizstan, two – of Latvia, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Slovakia and one – of Germany.
