On Wednesday, July 19, 60 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4862 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 9 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; 236 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On July 19, officials of the State Border Guard detected 75 offenders at external borders and within the country.
44 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 8 foreigners
at the Vientuļi, the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, one – of Ukraine and one – of USA, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document. Two more citizens of Russia and two – of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 6 foreigners
four citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Ukraine and one – of Russia were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point one minor citizen of Latvia, leaving the country, who did not have a notarized authorization of the second parent for the child's departure from the country, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 7 persons – two citizens of Lithuania, two – of Uzbekistan, one - of Latvia, one – of Russia and one - of Estonia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 23 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 11 citizens of Belarus, three - of Latvia, two – of Russia, two – of Lithuania, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Georgia, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Moldova.
