On Wednesday, July 20, 26 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4888 persons have been stopped this year.
In total 236 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On July 20, officials of the State Border Guard detected 72 offenders at external borders and within the country.
46 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 23 foreigners
at the Vientuļi, the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Silene and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, one - of Ukraine, one – of Moldova and one – of Armenia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of Moldova, one – of Ukraine and one – of Great Britain, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; to six citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. Five more citizens of Russia, two – of Israel, one – of Belarus and one – of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 6 foreigners
two citizens of Ukraine, two – of Russia, one - of Uzbekistan and one – of Georgia were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa or visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by two citizens of Russia and one – of Uzbekistan was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point one minor citizen of Latvia, leaving the country, who did not have a notarized authorization of the second parent for the child's departure from the country, as well as at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one minor citizen of Latvia, departing for Istanbul, who did not have a notarized authorization of the second parent for the child's departure from the country, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – three citizens of Estonia and one – of Germany.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 22 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Latvia, three – of Moldova, two – of Russia, two – of Lithuania, two – of Bosnia and Herzegovina, two – of Israel, two – of Kazakhstan, one - of Belarus, one - of Estonia, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Germany, one – of Sweden and one – of Switzerland.
