On Friday, the 21st of July, the State Border Guard’s officials prevented 28 people from illegally crossing Latvian – Belarusian state border, in total 4916 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the state border during this year.
In total 236 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
58 offenders were detected at external borders and within the country
23 trespassers were detected at external borders including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 23 foreigners
At the Vientuļu, Grebņeva and Terehova Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, one citizen of Georgia, as the foreigner was banned to travel and stay in the territory of Schengen area countries. Two more citizens of Russia, two -of Ukraine and one –of Moldova were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
At the Pāternieku and the ‘‘Riga’’ Airport Border Control Points two citizens of Uzbekistan, one –of Russia and one –of Ukraine, were detected for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa or visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- Exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
At Silene Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia, leaving the country, was detected with not valid travel document (document was invalid due to a change of surname). The person was refused to exit from the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 13 persons – seven citizens of Nepal, three -of Lithuania, two -of Estonia and one –of India.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 22 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 5 citizens of Belarus, 4 –of Uzbekistan, 3 –of Russia, 2 –of Latvia, 2-of Moldova, 1 –of Estonia, 1- of Bulgaria, 1-of Georgia, -1 of Kazakhstan, 1 –of Portugal and 1 –of Ukraine.
