the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2730 persons have been stopped this year. 

A total 12 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 58 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

38 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 13 foreigners

at the „Riga” Airport, the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Kazakhstan, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Nigeria, one – of Tajikistan and two – of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. As well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova and one - of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 12 foreigners

one citizen of Russia, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, three – of Uzbekistan, one – of Tajikistan, one – of Kazakhstan, two – of Ukraine and one – of Russia were detected for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by the three citizens of Uzbekistan was not initiated. The other persons were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the country was refused to two persons

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia, departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, and one minor citizen of Latvia (female), who wanted to depart for Tivat and did not have a notarized power of attorney from the other parent, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons -  one citizen of Estonia, one – of Norway and one – of Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 12 citizens of Belarus, two – of Moldova, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Romania and one – of Serbia.
