On Monday, July 31, 43 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5220 persons have been stopped this year.
In total 258 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On July 31, officials of the State Border Guard detected 65 offenders at external borders and within the country.
41 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 28 foreigners
at the Vientuļi, the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Pāternieki, the Silene and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to six citizens of Russia, five - of Belarus and four – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Nigeria and one – of Montenegro, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. Nine more citizens of Ukraine and one - of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – two citizen of Armenia and one – of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 21 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 12 citizens of Belarus, two - of Latvia, two – of Tajikistan, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Russia, one - of Moldova and one – of Sweden.
