On Saturday, July 6, 70 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2847 persons have been stopped this year. 

A total 12 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 64 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

23 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 11 foreigners

at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to eight citizens of Russia and one – of Kazakhstan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; to four citizens of Russia and one - of Kazakhstan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit.  As well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • exit from the country was refused to two persons

at the „Riga” Airport and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, two minor citizens of Latvia, who were not in possession of a notarized power of attorney of at least one parent for an independent travel in and out of the country with an accompanying person. The persons were banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 17 persons -  three citizens of Russia, four – of Estonia, eight – of Lithuania and two – of Ukraine.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 24 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 10 citizens of Belarus, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, two – of Estonia, one – of India, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Moldova, one – of Poland, two – of Turkey and two – of Germany.
