On Friday, July 7, 25 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4574 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 10 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; 213 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On July 7, officials of the State Border Guard detected 73 offenders at external borders and within the country.
41 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the Terehova Border Control Point 1 citizen of Moldova, who presented to border guards forged Moldovan vehicle driving license, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for using forged documents. The forged document was seized within the framework of the criminal process.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 14 foreigners
at the Vientuļi, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of Ukraine and one – of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; as well as to seven citizens of Tajikistan and one – of Georgia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. One more citizen of Ukraine was banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 9 foreigners
six citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Canada, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Georgia were detected at the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by one citizen of Uzbekistan was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one minor citizen of Latvia, departing for Istanbul who did not have at least one parent's notarized consent for the child's independent departure from the country was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 citizens – six citizens of Estonia, three – of Lithuania and one - of Mexica.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 22 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 10 citizens of Belarus, six – of Russia, two – of Latvia, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Estonia and one – of Ukraine.
