On Sunday, July 9, 26 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4614 persons have been stopped this year.
213 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On July 9, officials of the State Border Guard detected 57 offenders at external borders and within the country.
27 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 2 foreigners with forged documents were detected
at the Terehova Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine, who presented to border guards forged Ukrainian vehicle driving license, was detected. As well as at the Grebņeva Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine, who presented to border guards forged Ukrainian vehicle driving license, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for using forged documents. The forged documents were seized within the framework of the criminal process.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 15 foreigners
at the Vientuļi, the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; as well as to four citizens of Kirgizstan, two – of Moldova and two – of Azerbaijan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. Three more citizens of Russia and one – of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
two citizens of Belarus, two – of Azerbaijan and one – of India were detected at the Silene and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by two citizens of Azerbaijan was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point two minor citizens of Latvia, departing for Antalya, who did not have at least one parent's notarized consent for the child's independent departure from the country, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 persons - six citizens of Lithuania, three - of Estonia and one – of Russia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 26 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Belarus, two – of Latvia, two - of Russia, two – of Estonia, two – of Tajikistan, one – of Kirgizstan, one – of Moldova, one – of Serbia
and one – of Ukraine.
