On Saturday, June 1, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2138 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 10 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 55 offenders at external borders and within the country.
25 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
• One foreigner with documents of another person was detected
at the Riga airport Border Control Point, one Syrian citizen, who presented to border guards passport of another citizen of Bulgaria, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated against a person for concealing his/her identity.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 10 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Riga airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Georgia and five – of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia and one – of Moldova due to security reasons. While at the Pāternieki Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 9 foreigners
six citizens of Moldova, one – of Uzbekistan, one – of Belarus and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the Riga airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by two citizens of Moldova was not initiated. The other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 12 persons - eight citizens of Estonia, two – of Lithuania and two - of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, four – of Lithuania, three - of Uzbekistan, two – of Moldova, two - of Ukraine, one – of Latvia, one – of Estonia and one – of Kazakhstan.
