On Monday, June 10, 34 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2272 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 10 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 37 offenders at external borders and within the country.
20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the Riga airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan leaving Latvia, who presented to border guards a forged Poland residence permit, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Serbia, as the foreigner has already stayed for 90 days in the territory of the Schengen area countries in the preceding 180 days. While at the the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points as well as at the Port of Liepaja, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia (one - seafarer) and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons. Regarding the seafarer, a letter of guarantee was taken from the ship's master that the foreigner will not go ashore while the ship is in port. The other persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
three citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the Riga airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the Riga airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia departing for Great Britain without valid for travelling to Great Britain document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for two citizens of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Belarus, two – of Moldova, one – of Russia, one – of Armenia, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Mongolia, one – of Turkey and one – of Ukraine.
