On Sanday, June 11, 2 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 3860 persons have been stopped this year. 194 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On June 11, officials of the State Border Guard detected 45 offenders at external borders and within the country.
17 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the Vientuļi, the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova and one – of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; as well as to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document. One more citizen of Ukraine and one – of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Uzbekistan was detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons - two citizens of Estonia and one – of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 24 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Belarus, three – of Latvia, three – of Russia, two – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Israel, one – of Canada, one – of Poland, one – of Serbia, one – of Ukraine, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
