On Tuesday, June 11, 40 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2312 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 10 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 59 offenders at external borders and within the country.
22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 12 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the Riga airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Belarus, one – of Russia and one – of Kazakhstan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to six citizens of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
four citizens of Armenia and one – of Uzbekistan were detected at the Terehova and the Riga airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the Riga airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia departing for Great Britain without valid for travelling to Great Britain document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 16 persons - seven citizens of Bangladesh, five – of Estonia, two – of Russia, one – of India and one – of Somalia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 21 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, four – of Moldova, two – of Kyrgyzstan, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of India, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Germany and one – of Mongolia.
