On Monday, June 12, 33 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 3893 persons have been stopped this year. 194 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

On June 12, officials of the State Border Guard detected 45 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

17 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 12 foreigners

at the Silene, the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Kazakhstan and one – of Belarus, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of Tajikistan, two – of Vietnam, one – of Georgia, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Azerbaijan as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; as well as to three citizens of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel documents. The persons were returned to the country of departure.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons - one citizen of Estonia and one – of Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 26 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 11 citizens of Belarus, four – of Russia, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Latvia, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Bulgaria, one – of Israel, one – of Kirgizstan, one – of Moldova, one – of Portugal and one – of Germany.
