On Tuesday, June 13, 3893 persons have been stopped this year from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus. 194 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On June 13, officials of the State Border Guard detected 70 offenders at external borders and within the country.
35 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 wanted persons was detained
At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia - entered Latvia from Zurich, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was detained and handed over to the officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 13 foreigners
at the Vientuļi, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to five citizens of Ukraine and three – of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to three citizens of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel documents. Two more citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Uzbekistan and one – of Armenia were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by the citizen of Armenia was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point four citizens of Latvia, departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 12 persons - five citizens of Moldova, four – of Georgia, one – of Russia, one – of Belarus and one – of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 21 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Belarus, three – of Ukraine, two – of Estonia, two – of Kirgizstan, two – of Germany, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan and one – of Kazakhstan.
