On Thursday, June 13, 18 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2360 persons have been stopped this year. 

Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 10 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 51 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

18 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • 2 foreigners with forged documents were detected

At the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Russia entered Latvia with heavy goods vehicle and trailer, who presented to border guards a forged Latvian International Vehicle Insurance Policies, was detected. While at the Riga airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Syria leaving Latvia for Netherlands, who presented to border guards a United Arab Emirates passport, was detected. The persons were held administratively liable. The forged documents were seized.

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners

at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the Riga airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Georgia and one – of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova and one – of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners

one citizen of Uzbekistan and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the Riga airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia

at the Riga airport Border Control Point, two minor citizens of Latvia leaving the country for Turkey, who did not have the notarized consent of at least one parent for their children to leave the country on their own, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 8 persons -  four citizens of Lithuania, two – of Estonia, one – of Russia and one - of Ukraine.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 25 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 12 citizens of Belarus, fore – of Lithuania, three – of Moldova, two – of Russia, one - of Latvia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Portugal and one – of Uzbekistan.
