On Wednesday, June 14, 33 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 3926 persons have been stopped this year. 194 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On June 14, officials of the State Border Guard detected 56 offenders at external borders and within the country.
32 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 wanted persons was detained
At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Pakistan entered Latvia, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was detained and handed over to the officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 16 foreigners
at the Vientuļi, the Terehova, the Silene and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Azerbaijan, two – of Ukraine, one – of Russia and one – of Kazakhstan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Moldova and one – of Russia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. Six more citizens of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
four citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Ukraine were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia, departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for four persons – two citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Russia and one - of Austria.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Belarus, three – of Russia, two – of Latvia, two – of Lithuania, two – of Moldova, one – of Romania, one – of Ukraine and one – of Germany.
