On Friday, June 14, 49 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2409 persons have been stopped this year. 

Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 10 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 54 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

14 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Uzbekistan and one - of Georgia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners

one citizen of Armenia, one – of Russia and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, two citizens of Latvia leaving the country for United Kingdom, whose travel documents are not valid for travel to United Kingdom, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 persons -  three citizens of Lithuania, two – of Russia and one - of Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 34 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 15 citizens of Belarus, four – of Latvia, three – of Kazakhstan, three – of Moldova, two – of Ukraine, two – of China, two - of Lithuania, one – of Russia, one – of Armenia and one – of Uzbekistan.
