On Thursday, June 15, 34 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 3960 persons have been stopped this year. 194 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On June 15, officials of the State Border Guard detected 55 offenders at external borders and within the country.
32 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 2 wanted persons were detained
At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point two citizens of Latvia - one entered from Amsterdam and another – from Warsaw, who are wanted by the Police, were detected. The persons were detained and handed over to the officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 14 foreigners
at the Vientuļi, the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia and one – of Kazakhstan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of Moldova and two – of Serbia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; as well as to one citizen of Ukraine,
as the foreigner was banned from entry into the territory of the Schengen States. Five more citizens of Russia and two – of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
two citizens of Moldova were detected at the Terehova Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by one citizen of Moldova was not initiated, the other person was subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point two citizens of Latvia, departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, as well as one minor citizen of Latvia departing for Antalya, who was not in possession of a notarized consent of at least one parent to leave the country independently, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for three persons – one citizen of Latvia, one – of Finland and one - of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, four – of Russia, three – of Latvia, two – of Kazakhstan, two – of Kirgizstan, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
