On Saturday, June 15, 16 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2425 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 1 person was not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 11 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 45 offenders at external borders and within the country.
20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the Riga airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens
of Russia, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner has a ban to entry and stay in the territory of the Schengen States; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens Russia and one – of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
two citizens of Belarus, one – of Russia, one – of Kyrgyzstan and one – of Kosovo were detected at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the Riga airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the Riga airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia departing for United Kingdom, who has a ban to leave the country, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 persons - three citizens of Belarus, three - of Lithuania, two – of Estonia and two - of Germany.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, two – of Moldova, one – of Estonia, one – of Armenia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of South Korea, one – of China, one – of Uzbekistan, one – of Germany and one – of Ireland.
