On Friday, June 16, 4 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 3964 persons have been stopped this year. 194 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On June 16, officials of the State Border Guard detected 56 offenders at external borders and within the country.
29 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 12 foreigners
at the Vientuļi, the Terehova, the Silene and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan and one – of Tajikistan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to three citizens of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; as well as to two citizens of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel documents. Three more citizens of Ukraine and two – of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 8 foreigners
six citizens of Uzbekistan and two – of Russia were detected at the Terehova, the Silene and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by one citizen of Uzbekistan was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia, departing for London without valid travel document (the document is registered as stolen or lost), was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – three citizens of Estonia and one – of Latvia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 23 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, three – of Latvia, three – of Russia, two – of Moldova, two – of Ukraine, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kirgizstan, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Serbia.
