On Sunday, June 16, 11 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2436 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 11 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 39 offenders at external borders and within the country.
18 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan entered Latvia with heavy goods vehicle and trailer, who presented to border guards forged Uzbekistan vehicle and trailer roadworthiness certificates, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents. The forged documents were seized within the framework of the criminal proceedings.
- 1 wanted person – citizen of Germany was detained
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one citizen of Germany entered Latvia, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was handed over to officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus, as the foreigner has already stayed for 90 days in the territory of the Schengen area countries in the preceding 180 days. While at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Riga airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
one citizen of Azerbaijan, one – of Kyrgyzstan and one – of Philippines were detected at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the Riga airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons - two citizens of Estonia and one - of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, three – of Moldova, two – of Romania, two – of Spain, one - of Latvia, one – of France, one – of Georgia, one – of Israel, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Serbia and one – of Ukraine.
