On Sunday, June 18, 30 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4004 persons have been stopped this year. 194 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On June 18, officials of the State Border Guard detected 63 offenders at external borders and within the country.
31 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 11 foreigners
at the Vientuļi, the Terehova, the Silene and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; as well as to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document. Four more citizens of Russia, two - of Ukraine and one – of Moldova were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 8 foreigners
two citizens of Russia, one – of Ukraine, one – of Belarus, one – of Kirgizstan, one – of Armenia, one - of Great Britain and one – of Azerbaijan were detected at the Vientuļi, the Silene, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa or visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by one citizen of Armenia and one – of Great Britain was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point three minor citizens of Latvia, departing for Tbilisi, who were not in possession of a notarized consent of at least one parent to leave the country independently, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 8 persons – three citizens of Lithuania, two – of Estonia, two – of Ukraine and one – of Turkey.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 23 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 12 citizens of Belarus, three – of Latvia, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kirgizstan, one – of Moldova, one – of Serbia and one – of Tajikistan.
