On Friday, June 2, 19 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 3679 persons have been stopped this year. 185 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On June 2, officials of the State Border Guard detected 63 offenders at external borders and within the country.
25 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 14 foreigners
at the Vientuļi, the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine and one – of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to seven citizens of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay. Two more citizens of Russia, one – of Moldova and one - of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
three citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Kazakhstan were detected at the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by the citizens of China was not initiated, the other person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 12 persons - six citizens of Estonia, two – of Kirgizstan, two – of China, one – of Russia and one – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 26 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – ten citizens of Belarus, five – of Russia, fore – of Moldova, two – of Latvia, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Israel, one – of Ukraine and one – of Ireland.
