On Sunday, June 2, 3 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2141 persons have been stopped this year. 

Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 10 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 52 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

37 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected

at the Riga airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Tajikistan leaving Latvia for Turkey, who presented to border guards a forged Polish residence permit, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents.

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 15 foreigners

at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Riga airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to one citizen of Belarus, two – of Ukraine and three – of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Georgia, as the foreigner has a ban to entry the territory of the Schengen States; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova and three - of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 12 foreigners

six citizens of Ukraine, two – of Uzbekistan, three – of Azerrbaijan and one – of Georgia were detected at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by three citizens of Ukraine was not initiated. The other persons were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia

at the Grebņava and the Riga airport Border Control Points two minor citizens of Latvia (females), one – leaving the country for Russia and another for Montenegro, not having a notarized permission from at least one parent for the child to leave the country, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons -  one citizen of Belarus and one - of Tajikistan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, four – of Lithuania, one -  of Kazakhstan, one – of Moldova and one – of Tajikistan.
