On Sunday, June 25, 11 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4171 persons have been stopped this year. 201 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

On June 25, officials of the State Border Guard detected 49 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

24 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 12 foreigners

at the Grebņeva, the Vientuļi, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Armenia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Georgia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; as well as to three citizens of Moldova and one – of Russia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay and to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was banned from entry into the territory of the Schengen States. One more citizen of Moldova was banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners

three citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Russia were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 citizens of Armenia.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 22 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Kazakhstan, five – of Belarus, four – of Lithuania, two – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Kirgizstan, one – of Moldova, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Uzbekistan.
