On Monday, June 26, 3 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4174 persons have been stopped this year. 201 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On June 26, officials of the State Border Guard detected 52 offenders at external borders and within the country.
23 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Silene and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; as well as to two citizens of Azerbaijan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. One more citizen of Russia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Belarus were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 10 foreigners
seven citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Ukraine, one – of Georgia and one – of Kirgizstan were detected at the Vientuļi, the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa or visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 7 persons - three citizens of Estonia, two – of Latvia, one – of Lithuania and one – of Moldova.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 22 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Belarus, five – of Russia, three – of Latvia, two – of Kirgizstan, one – of USA, one – of Moldova, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Uzbekistan.
