On Friday, June 28, 16 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2545 persons have been stopped this year. 

 

Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 12 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

 

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 46 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the person had no legal grounds to stay in the country (residence permit). At the Grebņeva Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two persons: to one citizen of Russia, who was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, and to one citizen of Moldova, who could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay. At the Tertehova Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to five citizens of Moldova and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners

one citizen of Uzbekistan, one – of Turkey and two – of India were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by the two citizens of India was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the country was refused to one person

at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one minor citizen of Lithuania, departing for Belarus without valid travel document (passport expired), was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were not detected.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 24 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 12 citizens of Belarus, one – of Latvia, one – of Lithuania, two – of Kazakhstan, two – of Moldova, three – of Russia and three – of Uzbekistan.
