On Saturday, June 29, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2545 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 12 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 55 offenders at external borders and within the country.
21 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 15 foreigners
at the Grebņeva and the Terehova Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia and 7 – of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to one citizen of Moldova, as the person was not in possession of valid travel document (validity of the passport shown is less than 3 months). As well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to five citizens of Moldova and one – of Russia due to security reasons.
- conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
one citizen of Uzbekistan and one – of Syria were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). While a citizen of Kirgizstan was detected at the Gerbņeva Border Control Point, he has exceeded the period of validity of the visa without a valid reason. Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by the citizen of Syria was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the country was refused to one person
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one minor citizen of Latvia, departing for Istanbul without notarized consent from at least one parent to leave the country with an accompanying person, was detected.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons - one citizen of Russia, one – of Estonia and one - of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 30 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 18 citizens of Belarus, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of France, one – of Israel, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Moldova, one – of Germany, two – of Lithuania and three – of Uzbekistan.
