On Saturday, June 3, 30 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 3709 persons have been stopped this year. 185 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On June 3, officials of the State Border Guard detected 57 offenders at external borders and within the country.
33 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 2 wanted persons were detained
At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia entered Latvia from London and another – from Dublin, who are wanted by the Police, were detected. The persons were detained and handed over to the officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 17 foreigners
at the Vientuļi, the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Ukraine and two – of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; to five citizens of Moldova and one – of Serbia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. Four more citizens of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Belarus was detected at the Silene Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 1 citizen of Estonia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 23 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – nine citizens of Belarus, four – of Ukraine, two – of Moldova, two – of Tajikistan, one – of Latvia, one - of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kirgizstan and one - the Netherlands.
