On Monday, June 3, 53 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2194 persons have been stopped this year. 

Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 10 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 41 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

18 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 12 foreigners

at the Riga airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to five citizens of Vietnam, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; while at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova, two - of Ukraine and one – of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners

two citizens of Russia, one – of Belarus, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Kazakhstan were detected at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the Riga airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by the citizen of Kazakhstan was not initiated. The other persons were subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons -  one citizen of India, one – of Kyrgyzstan and one - of Moldova.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 12 citizens of Belarus, two – of Moldova, one – of Latvia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Austria, one -  of Romania, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Uzbekistan.
