On Sunday, June 30, 25 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2570 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 12 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 38 offenders at external borders and within the country.
19 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 2 foreigners with forged documents were detected
at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, one citizen of Uzbekistan entering Latvia, who presented to border guards a forged roadworthiness certificate for heavy goods vehicle and trailer registered in Uzbekistan, and a citizen of Moldova, leaving Latvia, who presented to border guards a forged Romanian international vehicle insurance policy, were detected. In both cases criminal proceedings were not initiated and the persons were subjected to administrative liability. The forged documents were seized.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 8 foreigners
at the Grebņeva and the Terehova Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to five citizens of Moldova and three – of Ukraine due to security reasons.
- conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
one citizen of the United Arab Emirates and one – of Georgia were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, they exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa; while a citizen of Uzbekistan was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 persons - two citizens of Belarus, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Ukraine and one - of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – nine citizens of Belarus, one – of Latvia, one – of Kirgizstan and two – of Moldova.
