On Tuesday, June 4, 3 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2197 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 10 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 47 offenders at external borders and within the country.

- 2 wanted citizens of Latvia were detained
While carrying out immigration control within the country, on the V691 Demene–Kumbuli road, border guards detected a Latvian citizen who is wanted by the police. While at the Riga airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia (female), entered the country from England, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The persons were detained and handed over to officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 11 foreigners
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. While at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Riga airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Georgia and one – of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to two citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia, one - of Ukraine and one - of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Kazakhstan and one – of Moldova were detected at the Grebņeva and the Riga airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons - two citizens of Russia and one - of Tajikistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 26 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 14 citizens of Belarus, three – of Latvia, two – of Estonia, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Latvia, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Poland, one – of Ukraine and one – of Germany.
