On Monday, June 5, 3709 persons have been stopped this year from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus and 185 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On June 5, officials of the State Border Guard detected 30 offenders at external borders and within the country.
17 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Argentina, who presented to border guards forged Argentinian passport, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for using forged documents. The forged document was seized within the framework of the criminal process.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Pāternieki, the Silene and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus, one – of Ukraine and one – of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. Two more citizens of Russia and two - of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
three citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Ukraine were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid travel document). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons - one citizen of Armenia and one – of Azerbaijan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 11 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – two citizens of Belarus, two – of Latvia, two – of Ukraine, one – of Russia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kirgizstan, one - of Moldova and one – of Uzbekistan.
