On Thursday, June 6, 21 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2234 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 10 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 42 offenders at external borders and within the country.
21 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners
at the Terehova and the Riga airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, two – of Uzbekistan and two – of India, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. While at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Tajikistan, as the foreigner has a ban to entry the territory of the Schengen States; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 6 foreigners
one citizen of Moldova, one – of Ukraine, one – of Russia, one – of Brazil, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Uzbekistan were detected at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the Riga airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the Riga airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia (female) leaving the country for Ireland, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 persons - four citizens of Russia, one – of Latvia and one - of Romania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 10 citizens of Belarus, two – of Lithuania, two – of China and one – of Uzbekistan.
