On Friday, June 7, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2234 persons have been stopped this year. 

Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 10 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 61 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

31 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • 2 foreigners with forged documents were detected

At the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Russia leaving Latvia, who presented to border guards a forged Latvian International Vehicle Insurance Policy, was detected. While at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan entering Latvia with heavy goods vehicle and trailer, who presented to border guards a forged trailer roadworthiness test certificate, was detected. The persons were held administratively liable. The forged documents were seized within the framework of the administrative offence proceedings.

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 16 foreigners

at the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the Riga airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Moldova, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay to six citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner has already stayed for 90 days in the territory of the Schengen area countries in the preceding 180 days; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners

two citizens of Belarus, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Georgia were detected at the Pāternieki and the Riga airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by the citizen of Kazakhstan was not initiated. The other persons were subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 persons -  three citizens of Senegal, two – of Estonia, two – of Lithuania, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia and one - of Pakistan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, fore – of Latvia, three – of Lithuania, two – of Russia, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Estonia, one – of France, one – of Moldova and one – of Uzbekistan.
