On Friday, March 10, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 44 offenders at external borders and within the country.
21 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the Grebņeva Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine, who presented to border guards forged Ukrainian vehicle registration certificate, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for using forged documents. The forged document was seized within the framework of the criminal process.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 10 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki, the Silene, the Vientuļi, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, one - of Kazakhstan, one – of Serbia and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document as well as to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay. Two more citizens of Moldova and one - of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
two citizens of Uzbekistan and one - of Tajikistan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons - two citizens of Russia, one – of Latvia, one – of Estonia and one – of Great Britain.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, three – of Lithuania, two – of Latvia, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Russia, one – of Bosnia and Hercegovina, one – of Kirgizstan, one – of Moldova, one – of Romania and one – of Tajikistan.
