On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 37 offenders at external borders and within the country.
13 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Silene, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, one - of Belarus and one – of Georgia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of Moldova and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel documents, as well as to one citizen of Georgia, as the foreigner was banned from entry into the territory of the Schengen States. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Kazakhstan and one – of Georgia were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation of the citizen of Georgia was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons - one citizen of Belarus, one - of Estonia, one – of Lithuania and one – of Tajikistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, four – of Lithuania, three – of Latvia, two – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Iran, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kirgizstan, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Ukraine.
