On Friday, March 17, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 46 offenders at external borders and within the country.
27 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 14 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; to four citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. Seven more citizens of Ukraine and one - of Belarus were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Ukraine and one – of Russia were detected at the Terehova Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point two citizens of Latvia, one - departing for London and the other – for East Midlands without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 7 persons - two citizens of Estonia, two – of Uzbekistan, one - of Russia, one – of Lithuania and one – of Thailand.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Latvia, two – of Lithuania, two – of Ukraine, one – of Russia, one - of Belarus, one – of Kirgizstan, one – of Moldova and one – of Serbia.
