On Saturday, March 18, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 34 offenders at external borders and within the country.
24 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the Terehova Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine, who presented to border guards forged Ukrainian driving license, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for using forged documents. The forged document was seized within the framework of the criminal process.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 14 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki, the Silene and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Ukraine, one - of Russia and one – of Serbia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to three citizens of Moldova, two – of Ukraine and two – of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel documents; to one citizen of Ukraine and one – of Serbia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. One more citizen of Russia was banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of India was detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 9 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – two citizens of Latvia, two – of Ukraine, one – of Estonia, one – of Moldova, one – of Romania, one – of Serbia, one – of Turkish.
