On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 42 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

17 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners

at the Terehova and the Silene Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, one – of Ukraine, one – of Armenia and one – of Belarus as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document. The persons were returned to the country of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners

two citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Ukraine and one – of Kazakhstan were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 citizens of Latvia

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point two citizens of Latvia departing for London and one – for Manchester without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 persons - four citizens of Russia, one – of Estonia and one – of Belarus.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Belarus, two – of Russia, two – of Lithuania, two – of Moldova, one – of Georgia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kirgizstan, one – of Serbia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan.
