On Friday, March 22, 29 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 631 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 5 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 30 offenders at external borders and within the country.
15 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 wanted citizen of Latvia was detected
At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one Latvian citizen (female), who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was detained and handed over to officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport the Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Kirgizstan and two – of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Ukraine and one – of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
three citizens of Uzbekistan were detected at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia, departing for Great Britain without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – one citizen of Russia, one – of Estonia, one - of Lithuania and one – of Egypt.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 11 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – two citizens of Belarus, two – of Kirgizstan, two – of Ukraine, one – of Latvia, one – of Estonia, one – of Serbia, one – of Spain and one – of Turkey.
