On Monday, March 25, 20 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 663 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 1 person was not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 6 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 41 offenders at external borders and within the country.
20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 3 foreigners with forged documents were detected
At the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Russia, who presented to border guards a forged Russian driving licence, as well as one citizen of Uzbekistan, who presented to border guards a forged lorry and trailer roadworthiness certificates were detected. While at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one citizen of Russia, who presented to border guards a forged Azerbaijan International Vehicle Insurance policies, was detected.
Criminal proceedings were initiated against a Russian citizen for using forged documents. The forged document was seized within the criminal proceedings. The citizen of Uzbekistan and the other Russian citizen were subjected to administrative liability.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 11 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Namibia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, to three citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to five citizens of Ukraine and one – of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
three citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Russian were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 persons – two citizens of Russia, two – of Morocco and two - of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Belarus, one – of Kirgizstan, one – of Romania, one – of Serbia, one – of Turkey, one – of Ukraine, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
