On Sunday, March 26, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 49 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 17 foreigners

at the Terehova, the Pāternieki, the Silene, the Vientuļi and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Ukraine, one – of Belarus and one – of Oman, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel documents; as well as to eight citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. Four more citizens of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 7 persons - two citizens of Ivory Coast, two – of Ukraine, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania and one – of Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 22 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, three – of Ukraine, two – of Latvia, two – of Russia, two – of Kirgizstan, two – of Poland, one – of Georgia, one – of Kirgizstan, one – of Montenegro, one – of Romania and one – of Tajikistan.
