On Tuesday, March 26, 16 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 679 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 6 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 39 offenders at external borders and within the country.
17 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 12 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to one citizen of Russia and three - of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possessi7n of valid travel documents; to two citizens of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits;
as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova and one – of Russia due to security reasons.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one minor citizen of Latvia departing from Latvia, who was not in possession of the notarized consent of at least one parent for the child to leave the country independently, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons - one citizen of India, one – Kirgizstan and one – of Moldova.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Belarus, two – of Latvia, two – of Kirgizstan, two – of Moldova, two – of Ukraine, one - of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Israel and one - of Uzbekistan.
