On Wednesday, March 26, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 307 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 7 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 51 offenders at external borders and within the country. 20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 wanted citizen of Latvia was detained
At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia entered Latvia, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was detained and handed over to officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia and one – of Kyrgyzstan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 6 foreigners
four citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Russia and one – of Ukraine were detected at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by one citizen of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia departing for Great Britain, whose travel document was not valid for travel to Great Britain, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – two citizens of Russia and one - of Estonia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 28 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Moldova, five – of Latvia, four – of Belarus, three – of Romania, two – of Kyrgyzstan, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Armenia, one – of Bulgaria, one - of Kazakhstan and one – of Serbia.
