On Tuesday, March 28, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 58 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

37 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 19 foreigners

at the Terehova, the Pāternieki, the Silene, the Vientuļi, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to five citizens of India, two – of Russia, two - of Ukraine, one – of Chine and one – of Belarus, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of Moldova and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel documents; as well as to two citizens of Georgia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was banned from entry into and stay in the territory of the Schengen States. One more citizen of Russia and one – of Ukraine was banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner

one citizen of Ukraine was detected at the Grebņeva Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa). The person was subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 citizens of Latvia

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point four citizens of Latvia departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – two citizens of Lithuania, one - of India and one – of Estonia.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Belarus, three – of Latvia, two – of Lithuania, two – of Kazakhstan, one - of Russia, one – of Estonia and one – of Germany.
