On Friday, March 28, the officials of the State Border Guard have not detected any attempts of illegal crossings of the Latvia-Belarus state border. In total, 315 persons have been prevented from illegally crossing the state border this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons seven people have been admitted this year.
In total, 48 offenders were detected on the external borders and within the country, and 19 border violators were detected on the external borders, including:
- One person with forged documents was detected at the Pāternieki border control point, one Uzbek citizen leaving Latvia by car was detected, who presented a forged Uzbek technical inspection certificate to the border guards. The person was held administratively liable. The forged document was seized as part of the administrative process.
- Six foreigners denied entry to Latvia. Four Ukrainian and two Moldovan citizens were denied entry into Latvia at the Grebņeva, Terehova and Pāternieki border control points for security reasons. The persons were returned to their countries of departure.
- Violations of residence conditions detected for two foreigners. Two Uzbek citizens were detected at the border control point of Riga Airport, who had violated the residence conditions (exceeded the period of residence specified in the visa) in the Schengen area countries. The persons have been held administratively liable.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence rules were detected for six persons – two Russian, one Estonian, one Tajik, one Ukrainian and one Uzbek citizen.
For violations in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels, State Border Guard officials have held 23 persons administratively liable or prevented them from crossing the border – three citizens of Belarus, three of Kazakhstan, three of Moldova, two of Kyrgyzstan, two of Russia, one of Latvia, one of Estonia, one of Lithuania, one of Armenia, one of Israel, one of Kosovo, one of Romania, one of Tajikistan, one of Uzbekistan and one of Germany.
