On Wednesday, March 29, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 56 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

37 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 18 foreigners

at the Terehova, the Silene, the Vientuļi and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to twelve citizens of Moldova, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Kazakhstan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. Two more citizens of Russia, one – of Belarus and one – of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 8 foreigners

four citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Ukraine, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Russia and one – of Georgia were detected at the Terehova, the Vientuļi, the Silene and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa or visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point two citizens of Latvia departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 persons – two citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Estonia, one – of Russia and one – of Kirgizstan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Latvia, three - of Russia, two – of Uzbekistan, one - of Belarus, one – of Lithuania, one – of Rumania and one – of Ukraine.
