On Friday, March 3, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 46 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

13 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners

at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Kirgizstan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, one – of Serbia and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel documents; to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay. One more citizen of Russia was banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners

one citizen of Russia, one – of Belarus and one - of Uzbekistan were detected at the Terehova, the Silene and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia departing for East Midlands without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 12 persons - seven citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Latvia, one – of Estonia, one – of Armenia, one – of India and one – of Tajikistan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 21 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, five – of Kazakhstan, three – of Moldova, two – of Latvia, two – of Ukraine, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Australia and one – of Uzbekistan.
